🔥 《When Heaven Answered: The First Sacrifice》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
The sun had barely risen over the desert,
but the people were already gathered,
holding their breath.
This was the eighth day.
The day Moses had spoken of.
The day when God would appear.
Aaron stood before the altar—
no longer just the brother of Moses,
but now a priest.
A mediator.
The bridge between a sinful people and a holy God.
He brought the offerings.
First, for himself:
a calf for the sin offering,
a ram for the burnt offering.
Then for the people:
a goat for sin,
a calf and a lamb for burnt offerings,
a bull and a ram for peace offerings,
with a grain offering mixed with oil.
It was a table—
a table set before the Lord.
And it was full.
Aaron lifted his hands and blessed them.
But there was no sound.
No thunder.
No fire.
Not yet.
He stepped down from the altar
and walked into the Tent of Meeting with Moses.
The people watched,
silent.
Would God come?
Then it happened.
They emerged.
Aaron raised his hands—
and suddenly,
FIRE
came out from the presence of the Lord,
and consumed the burnt offering on the altar.
The people cried out—
not in fear,
but in awe.
And then,
they fell.
"And all the people saw it,
they shouted for joy
and fell facedown."
(Leviticus 9:24)
God had received it.
The priest had been accepted.
The people had been heard.
Heaven answered—
with fire.
