💔 《Two Sisters, One Wounded Love》
💔 《Two Sisters, One Wounded Love》
A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
The well was clear,
and so was Jacob’s heart
when he saw her.
Rahel.
She moved like sunlight,
and his soul followed without hesitation.
“I will work seven years for Rachel.” (Genesis 29:18)
He counted days like love letters.
Years melted into minutes—
until the wedding night.
But the morning light
did not shine on Rachel.
It revealed Leah.
The deceiver was deceived.
The younger became second.
And the older—
the one no one chose—
was now his wife.
“It is not our custom to marry the younger first…” (v.26)
So he worked another seven years.
Not for duty,
but still for Rachel.
But God was watching.
Watching the ache in Leah’s heart
and the favoritism in Jacob’s hands.
Leah bore sons.
Each name a cry.
Each cry a prayer.
“Now my husband will love me.” (v.32)
“Because the Lord heard, He gave me another.” (v.33)
“This time I will praise the Lord.” (v.35)
And so Judah was born—
from the unloved,
came the line of the Messiah.
