🧱 《The Tower and the Tongues: The Story of Babel》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
They all spoke the same language.
Their words flowed like rivers—
smooth, united, and full of pride.
The flood was a memory.
The rainbow had long faded.
But their hearts remembered something different than grace.
They remembered control.
They remembered power.
They whispered,
“Let us never be scattered again.”
In a wide valley of the east, they gathered.
Brick by brick, they built.
Kilns burned night and day.
Their arms ached, but their egos soared.
The tower rose like a challenge to heaven.
“Let us build a name for ourselves,” they said.
“A tower that touches the sky.”
They believed unity meant invincibility.
They mistook human strength for divine approval.
And God watched.
He was not threatened.
He could not be outbuilt.
But He saw something deeper—
a sickness rising again.
The same pride that led Eve to reach.
The same rebellion that moved Cain to strike.
“They are united,” God said.
“And with one tongue, nothing they plan will be impossible for them.”
Not impossible—
but increasingly destructive.
So God came down.
Not in wrath,
but with wise hands.
He didn’t shake the tower.
He didn’t burn the bricks.
He touched their tongues.
One by one, their words unraveled.
Where once they built in harmony,
now they shouted in confusion.
“Pass me the brick!”
But the other heard,
“Gibberish and nonsense.”
Voices clashed.
Plans crumbled.
Tools dropped.
The tower stood—
unfinished, abandoned,
a monument to human pride and divine mercy.
They scattered.
North, south, east, west.
Families separated by speech.
Nations born from misunderstanding.
But God's purposes were not stopped.
They were multiplied.
He did not destroy humanity.
He redirected it.
And from the scattered,
He would one day call Abraham.
And through him, bless all nations.
