🕳️ 《The Pit Wasn't the End》
🕳️ 《The Pit Wasn't the End》
A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
The sun was high.
The fields were quiet.
And Joseph came,
searching for brothers
but walking into betrayal.
They saw him—
the coat,
the dreams,
the memory of being second to him.
“Let’s kill him.”
“No, throw him in the cistern.”
“Wait, here come Ishmaelites…”
The plan changed,
but the heart stayed the same.
They stripped the robe—
stripped his dignity—
and cast him into a pit.
Empty.
Dark.
Hopeless.
“They sat down to eat.” (Genesis 37:25)
While he cried for help.
Then coins.
Silver for silence.
A slave’s price.
“They sold him for twenty shekels.” (v.28)
And the dreamer
was carried away in chains.
But dreams don’t die
in dry cisterns.
They just descend
into Egypt.
