👶 《Laughter in the Tent: The Birth of Isaac》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
It had been nearly twenty-five years.
Twenty-five years since the stars were counted.
Since the Voice spoke beneath the heavens.
Since God said,
“You will have a son.”
And yet—no cry of a baby.
No small feet in the tent.
No heir to laugh at Abraham’s jokes or catch Sarah’s smile.
The years had stretched like desert sand.
Prayers had grown softer.
Hope more fragile.
Sarah had grown old.
And Abraham older still.
But one afternoon, under the blazing sun,
three strangers appeared by the oaks of Mamre.
Abraham rushed to greet them.
He bowed low.
He offered food, water, rest.
And as they sat and ate beneath the tree,
one of them looked into the tent and said—
“Where is your wife, Sarah?”
Abraham blinked.
They knew her name.
“She’s in the tent,” he replied.
Then came the words that made time stop:
“I will return to you this time next year,
and your wife Sarah… will have a son.”
Inside the tent, Sarah listened—
and she laughed.
Not a mocking laugh.
Not quite.
More like the laugh that hides tears.
The kind that says,
“That would be nice… if only it were still possible.”
But the Voice heard her laugh.
“Why did Sarah laugh?” He asked.
Sarah, startled, tried to deny it.
“I didn’t laugh…”
But He simply smiled.
“Yes, you did.”
And then He asked a question that echoed louder than thunder:
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
A year passed.
And against all logic, all biology, all despair—
it happened.
Sarah bore a son.
She held him in trembling arms.
She kissed his forehead and whispered his name:
Isaac.
Which means…
“Laughter.”
She laughed again—
but this time, it was holy.
Full.
Free.
“God has brought me laughter,” she said.
“And all who hear will laugh with me.”
The promise had not been forgotten.
The waiting had not been in vain.
The God who speaks under stars
also whispers inside tents.
And He always keeps His word.
