🕯️ 《Dreams Behind Bars: Joseph and the Grace in Prison》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
Stone walls.
Iron bars.
No sunlight, no music, no freedom.
Just time.
And silence.
Joseph had done nothing wrong.
Yet here he was—
confined not for a crime,
but for righteousness.
But prison wasn’t empty.
Because God was there too.
The keeper of the prison noticed.
Joseph didn't sulk.
He served.
He cleaned, managed, helped.
And little by little,
Joseph rose—again—
even behind bars.
The warden entrusted him with responsibility.
And God gave him favor.
Then one day,
two new prisoners arrived:
A cupbearer
and a baker—
once close to Pharaoh,
now cast down.
Joseph listened.
Watched.
He noticed the worry in their faces.
“Why are your faces downcast today?”
They replied,
“We’ve had dreams…
but there is no one to interpret them.”
And Joseph said something remarkable:
“Interpretations belong to God.
Tell me your dreams.”
The cupbearer spoke first.
A vine.
Three branches.
Ripe grapes pressed into Pharaoh’s cup.
Joseph smiled.
“In three days, you will be restored.”
Then the baker shared his dream.
Baskets on his head.
Birds eating the bread.
Joseph paused.
And with sorrow, he spoke:
“In three days, Pharaoh will lift up your head…
but it will be to judgment.”
Then Joseph looked into the eyes of the cupbearer.
“When it goes well with you…
remember me.
Mention me to Pharaoh.
Help me get out of this place.
I was taken from my land…
and I’ve done nothing to deserve this.”
The cupbearer nodded.
And three days later,
both dreams came true.
One lifted.
One lost.
But the cupbearer…
forgot.
Days passed.
Weeks.
Months.
Years.
And still, Joseph sat in shadows.
Faithful.
Forgotten by men—
but never by God.
For even in prison,
God was writing a story.
And when the time was right,
dreams would rise again.
