👑 《The Dream That Opened the Dungeon》

A Literary Devotional Narrative in English

Two years.
Silence.
The prison didn’t speak,
and neither did the cupbearer.

But then—
Pharaoh dreamed.

Seven fat cows.
Seven thin cows.
The thin devoured the fat.
He awoke, disturbed.

Another dream:
Plump ears of grain,
then withered ones.
Again, the weak consumed the strong.

None of Egypt’s magicians could explain.
But then the cupbearer remembered.

“I know someone… a Hebrew in prison.” (Genesis 41:9)

Joseph shaved.
Dressed.
Stood before Pharaoh.
Not as a slave,
but as a servant of the Most High.

“I cannot do it, but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.” (v.16)

He told the truth.
Seven years of abundance.
Seven years of famine.
A warning.
A chance to prepare.

Pharaoh listened.

And in a single day,
Joseph rose—
from dungeon to palace,
from prisoner to prime minister.

Not because he had dreams,
but because he gave God the glory.

  2. Promotion comes when we point to God, not ourselves.
→ In what areas of my life am I tempted to take credit rather than give God glory?

  3. Even forgotten gifts are remembered in God’s time.
→ What has God placed in me that may seem hidden but is not wasted?

  4. Wisdom begins with listening.
→ How can I practice listening for God’s interpretation in life’s confusing moments?

  5. God uses dreams to shape nations.
→ What vision might God be using in me to serve something bigger than myself?
