🔥 《The Day the Curtain Trembled》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
No one spoke loudly in the camp that morning.
No flutes.
No laughter.
No hammers on bronze.
Even the children whispered.
Because today was different.
It was the tenth day of the seventh month.
The day when one man,
in one garment,
would step into the Presence
for all.
The high priest had not slept.
He had washed—
twice.
Changed clothes—
twice.
Sacrificed—
again and again.
First, a bull—
for his own sin.
Then two goats were brought.
One would die.
The other… would live.
But not stay.
Lots were cast.
The goat for the Lord was slaughtered,
its blood caught in a basin of bronze.
The high priest clutched the basin—
and stepped into a place
no one else on earth could go.
The Holy of Holies.
Behind the curtain,
past the incense cloud,
he approached the Ark.
His hands shook
as he sprinkled the blood
on the atonement cover.
Not once,
but seven times.
Then silence.
Would God receive it?
Outside the camp,
the other goat waited.
The scapegoat.
The priest laid his hands on its head,
confessing all the sins of the people.
"For the lies.
For the hatred.
For the coldness.
For the idols.
For me."
The goat was led away—
into the wilderness.
Never to return.
Gone,
with their sin.
The people waited.
And then the high priest returned.
Alive.
Accepted.
And the people?
Forgiven.
