BTS’ SUGA Joins Baseball Legend Chan Ho Park in MLB Athletics Investment

A New Era Begins in Las Vegas

Two Korean icons from completely different worlds — K-pop and baseball — have united for a major move in American sports.
BTS rapper SUGA (Min Yoongi) and legendary pitcher Chan Ho Park have officially become investors in the MLB team “The Athletics” (formerly Oakland Athletics).

💼 A $70 Million Private Equity Fund — And a New Kind of K-Impact

This ambitious investment comes through a $70 million private fund spearheaded by Chan Ho Park’s sports management firm Team 61.
The fund will acquire approximately 2–3% of newly issued shares from the Athletics and directly support the team’s Las Vegas stadium development project, slated for 2028.

For SUGA, this is more than just financial involvement. Known for his recent ₩5 billion ($3.64 million) donation to Seoul’s Severance Hospital, he’s now stepping onto the global sports stage — bridging K-pop, philanthropy, and international enterprise.

⚾ The Athletics: A Legacy Reborn in Vegas

Founded in 1901, the Athletics have claimed nine World Series titles. Now, under the ownership of U.S. investor John Fisher, the team is relocating from Oakland to Las Vegas, aiming to redefine itself with a new $1.75 billion stadium — construction of which officially broke ground in late June.

🎤 When SUGA Meets the Mound — A Global Synergy

As the first Korean player to ever pitch in MLB, Chan Ho Park is expected to lead scouting efforts across Asia and mentor new talent.
SUGA’s global influence opens up limitless potential for fan engagement, cross-promotions, and transformative branding as the Athletics prepare their Las Vegas debut.

Together, their partnership signals not just a smart investment — but a bold new chapter where music, culture, and sport collide on the world’s biggest stage.
