💔 《The Brother Who Was Never Lost》
A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
He saw him.
Smaller.
Younger.
Still Jacob’s favorite.
Benjamin.
Joseph’s eyes lingered,
but he held his peace.
“Is this your youngest brother?” (Genesis 43:29)
“God be gracious to you, my son.”
The words trembled out of him.
He could say no more.
He hurried out—
to weep.
Seated in rank.
They ate and drank.
But Benjamin’s portion—
five times more.
Did they notice?
Would they envy him?
Or had time changed them?
Joseph needed to know.
So he planted the cup.
A test.
A final unveiling.
“The man in whose hand the cup is found shall be my servant.” (Genesis 44:17)
Benjamin stood accused.
But this time—
Judah stepped forward.
“Take me instead.”
And Joseph saw it:
they had changed.
Love had returned.
So did his.
