🛡️ 《The Battle for a Nephew – When Faith Fights》
— A Literary Devotional Narrative in English
Night had fallen.
The messengers arrived in torn clothes,
out of breath,
eyes filled with dread.
“Lot…
He’s gone.
The kings of the east took him—
and everything.”
Abraham stood still.
He had no army.
He wasn’t a warrior.
Just a nomadic shepherd
with a few trained men
and a covenant from God.
But when family was in danger,
Abraham didn’t hesitate.
He rose.
And he rode.
Four kings had swept through the valley like wildfire,
destroying cities,
taking plunder,
dragging people like spoils of war.
Among them: Lot,
his nephew.
The one who had chosen the best land,
who had moved closer to Sodom.
He had chosen wrong—
but Abraham chose grace.
In the darkness,
Abraham struck.
Three hundred and eighteen men.
Against kingdoms.
Against odds.
And they won.
Not by might,
but by purpose.
Not for glory,
but for righteous rescue.
He brought Lot back.
Safe.
With all the people.
And when the king of Sodom offered reward,
Abraham said no.
“I will accept nothing belonging to you…
so that you will never be able to say,
‘I made Abraham rich.’” (Genesis 14:23)
He didn’t fight for wealth.
He fought for what was right.
And Melchizedek,
king and priest,
blessed him:
“Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth.” (Genesis 14:19)
